Fawohodie is a Twi word which translates to liberty. The Fawohodie retreat is a segment of the Fawohodie Ministry. In June 2015, God spoke to Rev. Frank Addo, the then minister in charge of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Houston to build a ministry of refuge where people will retreat for reflection and prayer. This revelation was reiterated by the Lord through some believers and Ev. Aboah Ofei, a renowned minister of the Lord in Ghana.

The leadership of the Houston Congregation and Rev. Christian Bekoe Apenteng the then Ohio-Illinois District Minister supported the mandate. The ministry started with an annual prayer retreat in Houston, Texas in USA from December The North America-Australia Presbytery Session approved the retreat in 2016. The annual retreat is hosted in Houston, TX in November/December. We are praying and working hard to build a retreat center for the Lord.
